Welcome to my garden blog! I'm Hanni (rhymes with Connie). I'm a frugal Hoosier mama who loves Jesus, and is looking forward to gardening with Him in heaven! I have two little sweet beans - The Tornado and The Professor - who love to "help" me out in our zone 5 garden. We're in the daily process of learning how we can garden together, without anybody eating mulch or bathing in compost. (Although nothing beats a good piece of mulch with some grilled chicken.)
I love cottage gardens - with everything jammed in, crammed in, and growing upward. My own garden started afresh in 2010 when we moved, so it will be a few years until I have that stuffed no-soil-visible look. Dirt cheap gardener that I am though, I relish the challenge to make my garden daydreams come alive without going broke. (Although I do have a money tree next to my computer, alas, no money is growing on it.)
I've been gardening for 6 years, mostly flowers with a few veggies smothered underneath. I attempted my first Official Vegetable Garden in 2010. Alas, that garden was renamed the Death Garden, but I'm thankful that God gives us hope, and looking forward to conquering it this year!
For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. (Romans 8:24-25)
