Blue Gray Rainy Day

I am convinced that whoever came up with Daylight Saving Time:
1. Did not have young children living at home, and
2. Was not a light-loving gardener.

It's sad to be eating supper in the dark now.
(Even sadder that I am getting up at 5 in the morning now - not.by.choice!)

That's what *I* think of your smug Daylight Savings scheme!
So instead on this blue gray rainy day,
I'm letting my mind wander to happy gardening days and thanking the Lord for giving us coffee. :)

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
that you may be children of your Father in heaven.
He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good,
and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. (Matthew 5:44-45)

  1. I ***SO*** hear you. I really love the Spring Forward, because light seems to go on forever. But, I *hate* the Fall Back, because my husband has to come home in the dark. We can't see the birds while we eat supper, and the days just seem much shorter than the short they already are.

  2. Yep, it's not fun. I love the photo of your kids; I remember those days! Someday you'll be able to laugh about this. I'll dream right along with you about springtime and happy, smiling, contented tots!

  3. It took a while to adjust at our house too! Great pic of your kiddos! It really captures the moment.

  4. Now that my kids are school-age, we're a bit less thwarted by the time change, although I do remember dreading the destruction of my hard-earned baby schedules. I feel your pain, sistah! I, too, arise at 5 a.m., unable to convince myself to go back to sleep. Oh well, guess us early birds get the worm, eh? : ) I just literally DRANK in your photos...the corn and the coneflowers were my faves. Thanks for cheering up my blue, gray rainy day!
