Remember when I promised a little home tour?
(I know you're mentally thinking, remember when you used to actually post?)
We've been busy looking at realtor.com recently and I love love love peeking inside the houses. And checking out the birds eye view to see what the backyards look like! I'm going to have to rearrange everything for staging here in the next week, so I wanted to take some pictures of what the house looks like before I do that.
This was our dining room for a long, long time, until my compulsive transplanting/rearranging disorder hit.
Dollar store plates, score! And I scooped up that huge Mason jar at Goodwill a few months ago just because I couldn't believe how big it was....it's at least several gallons.
This was a hideous desk & chair before I got my hands on it. We got the desk for 2 bucks at a garage sale when we were first married. I spied the chair sitting on the side of the road at a stoplight. It was one nasty shade of dirty peach!
And lest you think the books are usually neatly on the shelf...a slight shift of the camera shows the true state of the bookshelf.
The Tornado's room in its full pink glory. If you look closely, you can see the honored GlowWorm's bed which is more or less a replica of her bed.
And the view of the garden from the living room window. It would be hard to say goodbye to the garden, but then again, I've always wanted to "inherit" a garden. My gardens I've had to start from scratch!
In his heart a man plans his course,
but the LORD determines his steps. (Proverbs 16:9)

I am looking forward to seeing the transformation...it looks quite nice now. I have never thought of inheriting a garden. I have always started mine from scratch as well, but I can see the opportunities in inheriting one. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely home and I am sure whoever buys it will love inheriting your garden. It is hard to leave a garden. I also have never inherited one. I hope you find the home and garden of your dreams.
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving us a home tour! I love so many of your decorative touches...like the three hanging balls in your daughter's bedroom and the dollar store( no way!!!) plates on the wall. You are very creative! Happy home searching.
ReplyDeleteInheriting a garden is awesome! Especially if you find one with thoughtful plantings. You can always add your own touches here and there. Enjoy the hunt!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea you were moving!! Where are you going? I've always found creating new gardens exciting! Cute interiors! Love the plates and jars. :o)
ReplyDeleteMoving can be exciting... & overwhelming! Hope you can spend more time in the former state than the latter.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your garden updates when you get settled. Do not forget to take lots of "before" photos! It is hard to remember that in the midst of everything else.
Thanks for sharing your pretty, pretty house!
Hi Hanni, sorry not to have been around for a while, it has taken me ages to work out how to keep up with blogs without "subscribe by email" options in a way that works for me and now I find you have one! Sod's Law I guess. Your home looks lovely - we are putting our house on the market next year, and I have been burning up brain cells trying to work out how best to stage our house so that we can still live in it but so that it won't put buyers off. I am not naturally tidy, so the whole thing will be a bit of a pain. I still haven't worked out whether I would prefer to inherit a garden or start from scratch again.
ReplyDeleteI have been super busy this month and am very behind on reading blog posts. I didn't know you were moving...where are you going? I have moved many times and I fully understand how difficult it is to leave a garden where so much hard work was put in. But you will have a new garden with new challenges and plants. That is very exciting!
ReplyDeleteLove your decorating!
ReplyDeleteWe have moved so many times and each time I leave a beautiful garden behind. It is usually what sells the place, especially since I leave a garden slide show going on my computer when people come through. Often, the saddest part is visiting the place a year or two later and seeing what has happened to the garden.
Hanni, your home is lovely. I love your sense of design: fresh, simple and fun! Are you relocating or just looking for a bigger house? We've been looking for so long that I've forgotten when we began. The perfect yard is elusive (and also key to my search). I, too, am always checking out the bird's eye view! : ) God bless you on your journey!
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering where you were! Now I know - you're moving! Good luck with the entire transition. I know you love your garden, but I think it will be so much fun to start over with a new garden. Good luck finding the perfect place!
ReplyDeleteSo, were is God having you sow seeds now? I found your site while looking for trellis ideas for my husband's family's 100 year old rose bushes we inherited with the farm. I will be adding more pictures to our website - more too this summer! www.GrapeLanePoultryFarm.org Blessings! Jayne Miller, Mary Miller's Mystery Garlic
