The Great Soil Experiment Meme: Part 2

Welcome to Part 2 of the Great Soil Experiment Meme!
(insert lightning flashes and a giant boom of thunder)

If you missed Part One, here's a quick review. Last week, I posted some easy instructions on how to take a soil composition test. By popular demand (or really, just a few genius comments), it became the Great Soil Experiment Meme. Test your own soil using my how-to, and come back to report on Friday.

Sand, sand, sand and then some sand

1. Post about your soil experiment, and include a photo of the final results.
Please link back to either this post, or Part One. (thank you!)

2. Enter your info into the Mr Linky widget at the end of this post
3. Please leave a comment...it's not just for my vanity! :) I don't get notified when you add to the Mr Linky widget, but I do get notified if there is a comment posted. I don't want to miss anybody!

And finally, there was some interest in seeing all the results collected and posted together.
I will visit each of your blogs via your links below, and save your final result photos. Next week I will post a Part 3 which will highlight all of the test results (and link back to your posts) so we can easily compare. I think that will be the simplest and easiest way. :)

I never thought I would be so excited to see dirt!

  1. My jars haven't settled yet (because I procrastinated and didn't get them made until yesterday). But as soon as I get the results I'll post them!

  2. Hi, Hanni. I finally got my pic and my info all together and finished my post. My soil has been settling for 3 days and it is still murky, but you can see the layers: sand, loam and a tiny line of clay. I added a link to the USDA site on soil.

  3. Hi Hanni,
I had every intention of doing this during the week but it has slipped down on my to do list. Hopefully I'll get round to it on the weekend and be a late entry. Looking forward to seeing everyone's dirt too!

  4. Hi Hanni

The jar I used wasn't photographing well for some reason so I had to change mine to a new, clearer jar. Its still settling so I will post it as soon as it has settled :)

  7. My Garden Assistant insisted that I add another comment. He wanted to be in Mr. Linky but I said No.
